The Gathering

As the sun peeked through the morning mist, I found myself amidst a sea of well-dressed riders, each astride their meticulously maintained vintage motorcycles. The air buzzed with excitement, and the clinking of polished boots against pavement set the tone for the day. The Zurich edition of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride had begun. We decided to meet up at a local café and start with a dark roast full of caffein!

The Attire

I had donned my finest suit that i had taylored in Vietnam, complete with a pocket watch and a silk bowtie. My helmet, though functional, was a nod to the past—a classic retro-dnuro design that made me feel like a character from an old movie. The other riders were equally committed to the cause, their suits, waistcoats, and bowties creating a delightful visual symphony.

The Route

Our route wound through Zurich’s charming streets, past historic landmarks and modern architecture. In Horgen we took the ferry to Meilen and startet out way back to Zurich. The roar of engines harmonized with the clip-clop of dress shoes as we rode side by side, waving to curious onlookers. The camaraderie was palpable; strangers exchanged stories, laughter, and nods of approval. What a great crowd!

The Cause

At the heart of it all lay the purpose—the reason we rode. Prostate cancer and mental health awareness were our rallying points. Each twist of the throttle was a statement: “We care. We ride. We make a difference.” And the donations we’d raised would support organizations working tirelessly to improve men’s health.

Conclusion

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride wasn’t just about motorcycles—it was about community, compassion, and making a positive impact. As I sipped my post-ride drink, I knew I’d be back next year, bowtie ready, helmet polished, and heart full.

Remember, my friend, it’s not the destination but the journey that truly matters. 🏍️🎩💙
