RTWR JOURNAL · PRICE INDEX · Research date: 1 October 2026

October is showing a split Swiss classic-bike market: ordinary rider-grade machines remain accessible, while low-mileage, unusually original or collector-positioned examples can sit far above the everyday market.

Snapshot, not valuation. All figures below are live asking prices observed on MotoScout24 on 1 October 2026. Asking price is not sale price.

October snapshot

Model Observed asking prices Signal
Ducati Monster 900 CHF 3,000–4,980 rider examples; CHF 10,500 collector ask Wide originality/collector spread
Kawasaki W650 CHF 3,900–6,590 Healthy supply, condition premium
BMW R1150 GS/GSA CHF 2,500–4,500 in verified examples Strong value per franc
Yamaha XT600 family CHF 2,900–2,990 for later XT600E; CHF 5,900–6,200 for Ténéré examples Clear two-tier market
Honda XRV750 CHF 4,800 Very thin visible supply
Yamaha SR400 CHF 9,900 verified low-mileage example Evidence too thin for a broad range

Ducati Monster 900

The clearest market split remains the original Monster. Current verified examples include CHF 3,000 for a 2002 i.e. Special with 21,200 km, CHF 3,490 for a 1999 Cromo with 12,551 km, CHF 4,500 for a 1994-registered early bike with 38,000 km, CHF 4,800 for a 2002 i.e. Special with 13,100 km and CHF 4,980 for a 1999 example with 23,000 km. A separate listing is positioned “for collectors” at CHF 10,500. View current Monster 900 listings

Kawasaki W650

The W650 remains one of the easier retro classics to price from live supply. Verified asks run from CHF 3,900 at 51,000 km and CHF 3,950 at 45,590 km to CHF 5,500 at 29,800 km, CHF 6,390 at 5,990 km and CHF 6,590 at 25,000 km. View current W650 listings

BMW R1150 GS

Verified October examples show how much usable adventure bike still sits below CHF 5,000: CHF 2,500 for a 2003 GS with 71,910 km, CHF 3,990 for a 1999 GS with 55,000 km and CHF 4,500 for a 2002 GS Adventure with 32,000 km. The spread is more about condition, history and specification than scarcity.

Yamaha XT600

The XT market is increasingly two-speed. Later XT600E examples remain around CHF 2,900–2,990 in the verified sample, while Ténéré-branded bikes sit materially higher: CHF 5,900 for a 1983 XT600Z and CHF 6,200 for a 1987 XT600Z. That gap is visible in asking prices, but the sample is too small to call it a completed-sale premium.

Honda XRV750 Africa Twin

Only one current XRV750 was visible in the exact-model search: a 1999 bike at CHF 4,800 with 42,000 km. That is useful as a live reference point, not a market range. View current XRV750 listings
